抗心希古 ─ 李硏山的藝術
李研山（1898 – 1961）是近現代廣東畫壇舉足輕重的人物，1930年代，他是廣東國畫研究會的骨幹成員，同時又是廣州市市立美術學校的校長，對粵港兩地的藝術發展影響深遠。是次展出的作品與文獻，充分反映李研山的藝術人生及其與粵港兩地藝壇的密切關係。
Li Yanshan (1898 – 1961) is a pivotal figure in the modern Guangdong painting scene. In the 1930s, he was a key member of the Guangdong Chinese Painting Research Association. He was also the principal of the Guangzhou Municipal Art School. He had a profound influence on the development of art in Guangdong and Hong Kong. The works and documents exhibited this time fully reflect Li Yanshan's artistic life and his close relationship with the art scene in Guangdong and Hong Kong.
This exhibition catalog displays more than one hundred works of Li's landscape, flowers and birds. He inherited the styles of Yuan and Ming and developed his personal style on this basis. His profound traditional skills can be seen in his ancient works. These rare works of Li Yanshan's life are preserved intact by Li's descendants and lent them to the exhibition generously.
