Miranda Tsui grew up in Hong Kong. She received her Master of Arts degree in Fashion Womenswear from the Royal College of Art, London, and started her fashion career in Italy. Upon her return to Hong Kong, Tsui taught fashion design at Hong Kong Polytechnic University, where she developed an interest in the issues of cultural identity and sustainability. Her design and art projects have been exhibited worldwide, including at the International Architecture Biennale Rotterdam (2003) and the Shanghai Biennale (2004). In 2002 Tsui co-founded Habitus, a design space in Hong Kong for the promotion of contemporary Chinese design. Tsui collects Chinese antiquities and is passionate about the cultivation of traditional material culture.
